On Saturday, July 14, the first annual Argentina Heritage Polo Tournament was held in Summer Hill Polo Fields to benefit the largest pediatric hospital in Latin America, Garrahan. Since 1987, the Garrahan has been the epitome of medical excellence in the region by providing the best possible care to every child treated, regardless of their country of origin or economic status. Over the past 31 years, the hospital has successfully treated over 18 million children completely free of charge.
In order to support this vital institution, the Embassy of Argentina, with the support of the the Argentine Polo Association and the State of Maryland, has joined together with Summer Hill Polo and the Many Hats Institute to organize this incredible event to benefit the hospital. Guests in attendance included Argentinian Ambassador to the U.S. Fernando Oris de Roa, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, and Academy Award-winning actor Robert Duvall.
